Before you tour: what 27 venues say about themselves
We read every venue's own website. Here is what they publish, and what they leave you to ask.
- 13 of 27 publish how many guests they hold, from 50 to 500. The rest you will have to ask.
- 12 mention an indoor or climate-controlled ceremony space, and 11 an outdoor ceremony site. Worth asking what happens to an outdoor ceremony if it rains or tops 100°F.
- 12 mention somewhere to stay or get ready on site: a bridal suite, cabins or cottages.
- 10 point to a preferred vendor list, and 2 say you can bring your own caterer. Catering rules shape the budget, so ask early.
- None of the 27 publish a starting price on the pages we read.
Questions worth asking on every tour
- Is the date held while we decide, and for how long?
- What is included in the price: tables, chairs, linens, setup, cleanup?
- Who can cater and bar, and is there a fee for outside vendors?
- What is the plan for rain or heat, and is it the same price?
- When do we get access on the day, and when must everyone leave?
- Is there a minimum spend or guest count on weekends?
